Nordson’s Talent and Total Rewards communities of expertise within the human resources organization were recently recognized by Crain’s Cleveland Business with the Crain’s Excellence in HR Award for Overall Excellence for a Public Company.

Chosen by a panel of judges comprising past HR honorees, the judges “noted exceptional work being done by members of Northeast Ohio’s HR community, who are not only leading in an environment dictated by COVID, but in one where the death of George Floyd became a ‘crystallizing event.’”

Additionally, the judges acknowledged the following activities the HR team drove or supported Nordson businesses to make successful:

Implementing the process and system infrastructure to support our two-segment organizational structure
Developing Nordson’s culture of inclusion and diversity through training opportunities and hiring practices
Improving and aligning equity, incentive and compensation programs and processes
Responding to the COVID-19 pandemic by putting global processes and systems in place to keep employees safe
Managing wellness in times of COVID with responsive wellbeing decisions and program actions
Launching a new global service award platform
Changing Nordson’s talent development culture by introducing new Foundational Attributes and annual performance review process
Introducing a new learning management system with best-in-class training

“The Talent and Total Rewards COEs have delivered an incredible amount of work that is helping our business grow,” said Shelly Peet, Chief Human Resources Officer.” While the team is small, they are mighty, and always willing to take on a new challenge. We often fail to recognize the tremendous effort needed to implement organizational change and support the business leaders as they set a new direction.”

Congratulations to our team members: Holly Gillis, Macy Szucs, Claire Akers, Erin Peters, Michelle Pieschalski, Christine Costello, Mark Low, Kathleen Lesner Hall, Brandi Kessler, Stacey Zeleznik, Delaney Famiano, Christoph Eickmeier, Phyllis Everson, Yolanda Pless, Mary Pat Fuller, Elizabeth Winer, Edward Brown and Yaritza Hernandez.

The team members will be recognized at a live event on Wednesday, Aug. 18, for their contributions. Accepting the award on behalf of the team are the COE leaders Kathleen Lesner Hall and Stacey Zeleznik.
